Dance Workshops

There is no advance ticket purchase.  Tickets will be sold at the Santa Barbara Ballet Center on the day of the workshops.

Introduction to Sevillanas - Marcellina de Luna
$10 at the door (cash only)

Access to the Arts Family Event!

Marcellina de LunaThe community is invited to come and learn one of the most festive couples dance from Sevilla.  Sevillanas is a joyful dance and is performed at all celebrations, such as fiestas, nightclubs, and even at weddings. This is a family event - men, women, and children of all ages are welcome to participate. No dance experience required.

 

12:15 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.

Advanced Choreography – María Juncal
$35 at the door (cash only)

Maria JuncalThis class is for the advanced/professional dancer.  The class will concentrate on the rhythm of Bulerías and will be accompanied by a guitarist.

 

2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

 

Dance Technique – Eduardo Leal
$25 at the door (cash only)

Eduardo LealThis class is for the experienced dancer - all levels welcome.  This class will concentrate on arm movements, footwork, and style and will be accompanied by a guitarist.

Classes are limited to 30 participants.

LOCATION:

All workshops will be held at the Santa Barbara Ballet Center, located at 1019 Chapala Street between Carrillo and Figueroa.  

TICKETS:

Tickets will be sold at the Santa Barbara Ballet Center beginning at 11:00 am. Payment can be made in cash only, no refunds will be granted. Classes are limited to 30 participants. A limited number of tickets will be available to observe the classes at $5 for the Sevillanas class and $10 for the choreography and technique classes. Please arrive early to register and to secure a space in the class.

PARKING: 

The entrance to the Santa Barbara Ballet Center is located in the rear of the building. Parking is available on the street, or in the City parking lot located on Figueroa between Chapala and State, across the street from the Ballet Center.
