About
Back in 2000, the Flamenco Arts Festival produced a traditional tablao show called Noches Flamencas. Presented for many years at Victoria Hall (now The New Vic), it became a beloved part of the festival’s programming. After a long absence, the Flamenco Arts Festival returns to its original venue with a new name inspired by the founders’ family name, Pizano: Tablao Zano Flamenco.
Reimagined for today’s audiences, Tablao Zano Flamenco draws inspiration from the intimate flamenco tablaos of Spain while presenting the experience in a different format. The performance preserves the close connection between artists and audience that defines the spirit of the tablao, with musicians and dancers sharing the stage in a lively atmosphere of improvisation and artistic expression.
The Flamenco Arts Festival hopes to continue presenting Tablao Zano Flamenco on a regular basis, bringing together rotating artists from across the United States and occasional artists from around the world.
Program, artists, dates, and times are subject to change.
