Arcángel – Mission Ambassador

The Flamenco Arts Festival is excited to unveil its Mission Ambassador Program, which aims to spread awareness of the FAF mission, programs, and initiatives to a wider audience; foster long-term relationships with other flamenco organizations, individuals, and artists in the U.S., Spain, and around the world; and promote and celebrate the richness and beauty of this ancient art form.

In the early years

of the FAF, my family and I had many table discussions about the different ways to grow, strengthen, and sustain the organization for the long-term. The Mission Ambassador Program was just one of many ideas we had at the time, and we are excited to finally launch this program and make it a reality. The FAF has come a long way since 1999, and we believe this program will be a key factor in our continued success and growth for the next decade and beyond.

Arcángel first graced the Lobero stage for FAF 2001 as a member of Eva Yerbabuena’s company. He was an up-and-coming cantaor (flamenco singer) at the time, and in addition to performing, he conducted cante workshops and performed at our Tablao Noches Flamencas alongside guitarist Paco Jarana at The New Vic (formally Victoria Hall). He is now one of the most respected cantaores in the flamenco scene today and was the only choice for this special appointment.

I am thrilled to officially welcome Arcángel to our FAF family! We look forward to this new partnership and a journey of innovation and growth that will benefit the organization and the community we serve.
