The show consists of five scenes, depicting the various stages through which the main character travels via her memories, conflicts, fears, and hopes. The journey is guided and provoked throughout by singing, guitar-playing, and costumes that come to life and then are lost, mirroring the inner world of the artist as she grapples with what is, was, will be, could be, or should be.
Mercedes de Córdoba (Córdoba, Spain) is one of the most powerful and authentic dancers of our time. With a career spanning many years, Mercedes has consistently wowed audiences with her versatility, emotional depth, and unparalleled ability to bring audiences to their feet.
As a young artist, Mercedes showed great promise, and she has since gone on to become an important name in the world of flamenco. She has performed alongside the leading figures of the genre, touring the world as an outstanding soloist. In 2013, she was awarded the National Flamenco Award, which marked the beginning of a new chapter in her career; she founded her own company and has since performed at some of the most prestigious theatres in Europe.
Mercedes is not only a brilliant performer, but she is also an accomplished choreographer and artistic director. She has won several awards, and SER, ni conmigo ni sin mí, received critical acclaim at events such as the 25th Festival de Jerez, the 21st Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla, and the 6th Festival Flamenco Madrid. She has also contributed to the work of some of the biggest names in flamenco, such as Paula Comitre, Eva Yerbabuena, Fernando Jiménez, Adela Campallo, and Gema Moneo. Her contributions to the world of dance are truly remarkable.
Join us in honoring and celebrating Mercedes and her remarkable contributions to flamenco. Don’t miss the opportunity to witness an enchanting flamenco performance by this incredible artist, joined by four equally remarkable talents: Juan Campallo, Jesús Corbacho, Pepe de Pura, and Paco Vega.
