The 9th Annual Santa Barbara Book & Author Festival presents a two-day event including panel discussions, open-mic poetry readings, and exhibits. T.C. Boyle, Naomi Klein, Steven Pinker and Alejandro Morales head the list of authors participating in this event taking place at various locations throughout Santa Barbara. The SBHAC annually honors Hispanics who have made significant contributions to their communities. The 2007 honoree, Willie Galvan, has dedicated his life to helping young people find useful, healthy directions in school, work and in their communities. He has also devoted many years of service to veteran’s organizations and is today the State Commander of the American GI Forum of California.
